Twenty-Two Years of Quality and Integrity.
Monk started as one contractor who got tired of watching good houses get renovated badly. It's grown into a crew that still works the same way — measure twice, plan hard, build once.
Built on a simple frustration.
Monk was founded in 2004 after years of watching renovation projects fall apart in the same predictable ways — vague scopes, shifting prices, and nobody willing to own a decision once things got complicated.
We started with a different premise: price it once, plan it properly, and treat the schedule as a promise instead of a suggestion. That approach was slower to sell in the beginning. It's the reason clients still refer us twenty-two years later.
Today Monk is a small, deliberately sized crew across the Capital Region — big enough to run a whole-home renovation, small enough that the person who quoted your job is still the person checking in on it in week six.
“We don't take on more work than we can actually pay attention to. That's the whole business model.”
What we don't compromise on.
Fixed Pricing
What we quote is what you pay. No change-order surprises used to pad a low bid.
Real Timelines
If we say six weeks, we mean six weeks — and we tell you immediately the moment that changes.
One Crew, Not Subbed Out
The people on your job site are people we've worked with for years, not a rotating cast of strangers.
Clean Sites, Every Day
A construction zone doesn't have to mean chaos. We leave your house livable at the end of every day.
Direct Communication
You get weekly walkthroughs and a phone number that gets answered, not a portal that gets ignored.
Built to Outlast Us
Every job is built the way we'd build it for our own house — because eventually, someone will ask us why it's still standing.
